OXFORD – Joyce (Hine) Dalbeck, 89, died Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at the Overlook Masonic Health Center in Charlton. She is survived by her daughter, Janet J. Bennett of Oxford; four grandchildren, Mathew Jason of Oxford, Belynda Sharlow of New York, Joy Day of Maui, HI, and Richard Blair of Washington; seven great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces; and a very special friend, Bev Charbonneau. She was predeceased by a son, Russell Dalbeck who died in 1986; and her brother, William Hine who died in 1987. She was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Fred and Bertha (Piggott) Hine, and lived in Holden and Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1960. She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester in 1947.

Mrs. Dalbeck worked at American Optical in Southbridge for 25 years, retiring in 1989. She was a former member of the Council on Aging and was an active member of the Oxford Senior Center. She was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Oxford and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, and reading.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at the Overlook Masonic Chapel, 88 Masonic Home Rd., Charlton. Burial will be private at a later date. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452, or the Overlook Masonic Health Center, c/o the Activities Fund, P.O. Box 1000., Charlton, MA 01507. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
