Biography

OXFORD – Leona M. (St. John) Gagnon, 92, formerly of Lind St., died Monday, July 12, 2010, at Oakwood Nursing Home in Webster. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Arthur R. Gagnon of Oxford; and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two sisters, Rose Baril and Rita Hamm; and a brother, Leo St. John. She was born in East Douglas, the daughter of the late Leo R. and Mary (Paciga) St. John, and lived in East Douglas for many years and Oxford for 27 years.

Mrs. Gagnon worked at Wright Machine Company in Worcester many years ago. She also worked at U.S. Envelope in Worcester and Harrington Richardson in Worcester during World War II. She was a member of St. Roch’s Church in Oxford.

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on July 15, 2010, at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Family and friends are respectfully requested to meet at the church. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. There are no calling hours. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is directing the arrangements.
