CHARLTON – Aaron D. Rice, 46, of Hiland Road, died Thursday, January 20, 2022, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester, after a brief illness.  He is survived by his husband of 11 years, Robert J.E. Mitchell of Charlton; his father, James E. Rice of Littleton; his sister, Sam Cahill and her husband Chris of Pittsfield; his brother, Jake Rice of Littleton; his paternal grandmother and three aunts.  He was born in Roswell, NM, son of the late Alma Ruth (Kirby) Rice, and lived in Charlton since 2006.

Mr. Rice worked as a customer service representative for most of his life.  He was affiliated with the Worcester Model Railroaders and was an affiliate member of the Waushakum Live Steamers in Holliston.  He was highly creative and had a wonderful imagination.  He enjoyed crafting projects of various types and loved his dog, Pepper.  He will be remembered by his family as a free spirit.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Aaron’s life on Friday, January 28, 2022, from 4-7 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home , 357 Main St., Oxford.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 136, 111 Young Road, East Brookfield, MA 01515.
