Albert Grondine

OXFORD - Albert F. Grondine, 86, of Carey Lane, died peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2013, in his home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary R. (Credit) Grondine of Oxford; three children, Richard Grondine and his wife Carolyn of Dudley, Diane Saad and her husband George of Dudley, and Elaine (Grondine) Kennedy of New Hampshire; a sister, Ann O'Brien of Worcester; six grandchildren, Steven Grondine, Michael Grondine, Jennifer (Grondine) Williams, Brian Saad, Michelle Grondine, and Shawn Kennedy; six great grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his son, Robert F. Grondine who died in 2011; and his grandson, Adam Saad who died in 1995. He was born in Lowell, the son of the late Albert and Eileen (Maguire) Grondine, and lived in Uxbridge before moving to Oxford in 1956. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Grondine was a truck driver for Atlas Distributing Inc. in Auburn for 25 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 170 and was a past officer of the Retiree's Chapter. Mr. Grondine was a faithful member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and an accomplished cook and gardener. He was a faithful husband to his wife, Mary, and a dedicated family man to his children. A funeral will be held on Monday, January 6, 2014, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Sunday, January 5, 2014, from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
