WEBSTER – Alfred Fafard Jr., 70, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at UMass – Harrington in Webster, Massachusetts.
He was born in Webster, the son of the late Alfred and Shirley (Brunell) Fafard Sr. He remained a proud, lifelong resident of the town he called home.
Al worked in the vending industry throughout his life, ultimately retiring from Foley Vending in Worcester. He was a loyal Boston sports and NASCAR fan and never missed the opportunity to cheer on his teams or favorite driver. In his younger years he played softball and enjoyed time out on the golf course. To him, there was nothing better than time with his family. He cherished his annual family trips to Maine.
He is lovingly survived by his three sons: Peter Fafard and his wife Jillian of Belchertown; Bryan Fafard and his wife Sandra of Webster; and Kyle Fafard and his girlfriend Shana of Webster. Shana quickly became like a daughter to Al while she and Kyle welcomed him into their home in his later years, providing him with both care and comfort.
He was a loving grandfather to Owen, Quinn, Emma, Brooklynn, Chloe, Janella, Nicholas, and Luca whom he loved to make laugh. He was a proud Uncle and survived by his niece, Melissa Elks and her husband Simon, and his nephew, Michael Fafard. He had wonderful and loving relationships with his sister-in-law, Bette Fafard of Maine, and brother-in-law, Manuel Federico of Arizona.
He is also survived by his cat and constant companion, “Girl” and his former wife, Linda (Tripp) Fafard. He is now reunited with his parents and siblings who passed before him, Ralph Fafard and Edith (Sue) Federico.
Al will be remembered with deep love by his family and friends. He had a steady presence and a way of showing up for the people he cared about. He passed along the work-ethic, values, and steady guidance that helped shape his children into who they are today. He will be deeply missed.
