Alice Fredette

OXFORD - Alice M. Fredette, 79, died Monday, May 9, 2011, at Park View Hospital in Leicester. She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Henry L. Fredette of Oxford who died in 1997. She is survived by two sons, Norman G. Fredette and his wife Jacqueline of Hudson, NH, and Kenneth J. Fredette and his wife Gina of Fitchburg; a daughter, Robin M. Rutana and her husband Donald of North Brookfield; her daughter-in-law, Susan Fredette of Putnam, CT; a brother, Clarence Leger of Stratford, CT; twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a son, Robert H. Fredette of Putnam, CT, who died in 2008; a brother, Raymond Leger of Bridgeport, CT; and a sister, Grace St. Martin of Auburn. She was born in Ware, the daughter of the late Alyre and Harriet (LeBlanc) Leger, and lived in West Brookfield, Worcester, and Cherry Valley before moving to Oxford in 1960. Mrs. Fredette worked at Wetherbee's and Paul Revere Insurance in Worcester many years ago. She was also the housekeeper at St. Roch's Church in Oxford for many years. Mrs. Fredette was a member of St. Roch's Church. At the church, she was a Eucharistic minister, C.C.D. teacher, and took care of the flowers on the altar for many years. She enjoyed square dancing and country dancing. A funeral will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2011, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Wednesday, May 11, 2011, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
