He leaves behind his son, Anthony J. Sgariglia; and his daughter, Susan M. Sgariglia-Saad, both of Oxford. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Angela Bernard, Dennis Bernard, Nathan Saad, Zachary Saad, Anthony Sgariglia, Celeste Sgariglia and Emily Moody. He also leaves behind six great-grandchildren, as well his Goddaughter, Lynn Holmes-Morin of Southboro and Godson, George Vigeant of Leominster.
Our dad was a very proud United States Marine. His life’s career was as a police officer in Oxford, MA, from 1959-1985, retiring as Chief of Police. He loved his country and military service as well as his accomplishments within his career with the Oxford Police Department.
During his years spent with the Oxford Police Department, he was involved in many community programs and made many family friends and bonds that still survive today. After his retirement, he continued to work into his late 70’s. He, along with our mom, loved collecting books, going to yard and estate sales, gardening, and home remodeling projects.
He, as well as our mom and siblings, will forever be missed… until we meet again.
