WEBSTER – Arnold Victor Allaire passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester, at the age of 78 after a brief illness.
He was born in Worcester and spent his early life on The Patch in Auburn where his love of heavy equipment and gardening began. He was the son of Victor and Alpha (Trottier) Allaire.
He leaves his wife of 40 years, Britta of Webster; his sons, Timothy and Matthews; and his daughter, Sheryl, all of Wisconsin. He also leaves his sister, Arline France and her husband David of New Hampshire, and Suzanne Allaire-Hanlon of New York. Additionally, he leaves behind four grandchildren, Jordan, Abbey, Sava, and Toma, all of Wisconsin; as well as his nephews, Peter, Jonathon, Patrick, Shane, and Eran.
His heavy equipment operating skills led to employment with J.E. Murray of Auburn and S.J. Turnblom of Shrewsbury. He took great pride in the successful completion of many building sites over the years in central MA and happily pointed them out.
Upon retirement, Arnie enjoyed flea marketing, World War II history, coffee with the boys at N&J Donuts in Oxford, his gardening in Webster, visits to New Hampshire and Newburyport to visit his sisters, trips to Misquamicut and Newport with Shellie and Bob, Christmases with the Diggins family, Fourth of July backyard cookouts, and sitting around a card table with family and friends. He was also a member of the Auburn Elks.
Arnie achieved two priority items on his bucket list – he rode in a World War II plane and helicopter. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his family and friends. When the time came, he carried himself with strength and dignity, and full of love for those who went before him, and those he will meet again one day. He will have probably added heavenly collectibles to his memorabilia by then.
A gathering to honor and celebrate his life will occur on a future date. His family greatly appreciates the wonderful expertise and skill of the doctors and nurses at UMass, the life flight team, and hospice, for their kind, compassionate care.
Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
