WEBSTER – Arnold “Arnie” L. Parker Jr., 77, of Hugo Terrace, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, in his home, with his wife, daughter, son, and best friend Bob Armstrong, by his side.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Norma J. (Hamilton) Parker of Webster; two children, Melissa Sellers and her husband Kenneth of Dudley, and Greg Parker and his wife Sylvia of Santee, CA; two sisters, Dorothy “Dot” A. Mrazik of Fort Pierce, FL, and Helen L. Nielsen of Worcester; two grandchildren, Katelyn Sellers and her boyfriend David Grady of Dudley, and Kevin Sellers of Dudley; a great-grandson, Daryl Grady; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Joyce Tannerillo.
He was born in Westbrook, ME, son of the late Arnold L. and Claire J. (Morgan) Parker Sr., and lived in Webster since 1997. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1966, then learned the trades of pipefitting and welding from his father. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Parker owned and operated AP Automotive in Oxford for 20 years, retiring in 2006. Previously, he worked at General Motors for 16 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 318 in Port St. Lucie, FL, Bush Hall in Webster, and a life member of the DAV.
Arnie enjoyed spending winters in Port St. Lucie, FL, and boating in Wakefield, RI, for 30 years.
The family would like to thank Brookhaven Hospice, especially Ashley and Jenn, for their exceptional care during his illness.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Monday from 9:30-11:00 a.m., prior to the service.
