OXFORD — Barbara M. (Starses) Dusoe, 88, of Federal Hill Road, slipped away peacefully on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, New Hampshire, with her son and daughter by her side.

She leaves her children, Kim L. Doucette and her husband Joseph of Deerfield, New Hampshire, and Donald W. Schmidt of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; three stepchildren, Lynn Graham of Las Vegas, Nevada, Craig Dusoe of Dayton, Ohio, and David Dusoe of Charlton; her former daughter-in-law, Doretta Schmidt of Enfield, Connecticut; five step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ronald F. Dusoe, who died in 2013, and her son, John D. Schmidt, who died in 1985.

Barbara was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Jacob and Rose (Greco) Starses. She lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1968.

Mrs. Dusoe worked at St. Francis Home in Worcester for two years before her retirement. Earlier, she was employed by Parker Metal Corporation in Worcester for six years, while also working part-time as a receptionist alongside her daughter at the dental office of Dr. Joel Berger in Uxbridge. She volunteered at Abby’s House in Worcester for 16 years, sharing her time and compassion with those in need and forming many lasting relationships.

A devoted member of St. Roch’s Church in Oxford for many years, Barbara served as an usher and greeter. She was an associate of the Franciscan Nuns. When her children were young, she was involved with the Camp Fire Girls and served as a Cub Scout den leader. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and baking, and will be lovingly remembered for the wonderful baked goods she shared with family and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Those attending are respectfully requested to meet directly at the church. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be private and held at a later date at St. Roch’s Cemetery in Oxford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Abby’s House, 52 High St., Worcester, MA 01609.
