Barbara Stanley

DUDLEY – Barbara M. Stanley, 74, of Lynn Lane, died peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2022, in her home.  She is survived by her sister, Marjorie Maple of Leicester, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters, James Stanley, Alice Stanley, Henry Stanley, William Stanley, Ronald Stanley, John Stanley, Richard Stanley, Leonard Stanley, and Jane Stanley.  She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late William and Jennie B. (Hicks) Stanley and was a lifelong resident of Dudley.

Ms. Stanley was a nursing assistant for many years, working at several area nursing homes and hospitals.  She was affectionately known as “Nurse Kilby” by her family.  When her brother became ill, she helped to raise his children, John and April.  She enjoyed caring for her beloved dog “Brownie” and her 3 parakeets.  She will be deeply missed by her family.  “Janet, get ready, she’s yours now . . .”

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford.  Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery in Worcester.  Calling hours are Thursday from 10 a.m. – 12 noon at the funeral home prior to the service.
