Barbara Werronen

OXFORD - Barbara Aleta (Miller) Werronen, 73, of Oxford, MA, died December 31, 2013, at UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester, of heart failure. She was born April 2, 1940 in Portland, OR, daughter of Harold G. and Edith C. (Soll) Miller, and lived in Portland before moving to Oxford five years ago. She graduated from Jefferson High School in Portland, OR, in 1958. Before retiring, Ms. Werronen was an adoption counselor at the Oregon Humane Society. She was also a member of the Niscience Ministry in Glendale, CA. She will be remembered as a poet, artist, and animal lover. She is survived by her daughter, Renee White and her husband Michael of Oxford; two sisters, Stephanie Pizzetti and her husband Stephen also of Oxford, and Janice Sauer of West Linn, OR; as well as four nieces and her lifelong friend, Lori Beck. Services and burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland, OR 97211-1411. Paradis Funeral Home in Oxford is assisting the family with arrangements.
