CHARLTON – Barbara Ruth (Moffatt) Wilbur, 89, of Old Worcester Road, died Thursday, May 6, 2021, at the Lutheran Rehabilitation Center in Worcester. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Arnold Wilbur who died in 1985. She is survived by three children, Randy R. Wilbur of Charlton, Glen A. Wilbur and his wife Catherine of Greenbriar, TN, and Cheryl A. Wilbur of Charlton; a brother, Richard Moffatt of Charlton; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. She was predeceased by her son Keith E. Wilbur who died in 2016. She was born in Agawam, daughter of the late Paul and Alice Ruth (Lyman) Moffatt, and was a lifelong resident of Charlton. She graduated from Charlton High School in 1949.
Mrs. Wilbur worked at Mass Mutual in Worcester and later for Red Knit Industries. She also worked at a tour guide for the Mass Pike. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed spending time at the Charlton Senior Center. She was a talented artist who made and painted dollhouses, and she enjoyed collecting miniatures. She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother who cared for her home and family for many years.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at West Ridge Cemetery in Charlton. Calling hours are Tuesday, May 11, 2021, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
