Beatrice Wickman

OXFORD – Beatrice M. "Bea" Wickman, 83, of Cypress Street, passed away early Friday morning, July 18, 2008, after being stricken ill on Wednesday morning. She was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Carl E. Wickman Jr. of Oxford, who died in 1986. She is survived by two children, Gary C. Wickman and his wife Joyce of Fiskdale, and Gale A. Mayo and her husband George of Oxford, with whom she lived; two granddaughters, Brianne L. Kimball and her husband Joel of Brookfield, and Shelley A. Angell and her husband Scott of Putnam, CT; four great grandchildren, Avalon and Skyla Angell, and Anthony and Lucas Kimball; and several nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Joseph C. and Mary (Durette) Michaud, and lived in Oxford since 1959. She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester. Mrs. Wickman previously worked at Norton Co. and Telechron, and held various other positions until her retirement. She was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 58 in Oxford, past Worcester County American Legion Auxiliary Installing Team Member, and former member of the 8 and 40 American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, shopping, dining out, bingo, and "Dr. Mario." A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Monday, July 21, 2008, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
