OXFORD – Beverly D. (Dodge) Usher, 88, of Wheelock Street, died Friday, June 28, 2019, at the Overlook Masonic Health Center in Charlton. She is survived by two children, Ginny G. Radloff and her companion Dave Alexander of Oxford, and James N. Sacs and his wife Monique of North Carolina; her sister, Nancy Brown and her husband Howard of Florida; thirteen grandchildren, Justine Mills, Amanda Fitzpatrick and her husband Kory, Alex Radloff, Laura Reed and her husband Micah, Andrew Sacs, Matthew Sacs, Rachel Germain, Brian Campbell, Leah Fortier-Campbell, William Sacs, John Sacs, Theresa Sacs, and Adam Sacs; five great-grandchildren, Colby, Kameron, Kolton, Kingston, and Liam; several nephews and nieces; and many quilting friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 23 years, Gordon Usher who died in 2015; and her son, William E. Sacs who died in 2015. She was born in Melrose, MA, daughter of the late William and Helen (Kelley) Dodge, was raised in Rhode Island and lived in Westboro before moving to Oxford in 1977. She received an associate’s degree from Fisher Junior College in Worcester.
Mrs. Usher worked at Norton Company / St. Gobain in Worcester for 23 years, retiring in 1986. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, and especially loved quilting. She will be remembered as a dedicated mother and grandmother who loved caring for her grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 15, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A calling hour will be held on Monday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be private at Riverside Cemetery in Grafton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 1702 East Highland Ave., Suite 400, Phoenix, AZ 85016.
