NORTH OXFORD – Burton D. "Burt" Webber Jr., 81, of Turner Road, died Thursday, November 29, 2007, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus, after a short illness. He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Ethel G. (Goddard) Webber, who died on November 18, 2007. He is survived by two daughters, Theresa A. Farr of Estero, FL, and Elizabeth R. Thibeault and her husband Richard of Southbridge; a sister, Julia Gero of West Palm Beach, FL; seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a daughter, Linda LeBoeuf of Southbridge. He was born in Ware, the son of the late Burton D. and Lucinda (Laurence) Webber, Sr., and lived in Sturbridge before moving to North Oxford in 1963. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Webber owned and operated Burt's Antenna Service in North Oxford for many years, and spent his entire career doing antenna and cable work. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 5663 and a member of the American Legion Post 58, both in Oxford. Mr. Webber was past president of the Quinebaug Valley Campers. He loved snowmobiling and was an avid Red Sox fan. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing baseball and softball and played in various leagues in the area. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Military burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Monday, December 3, 2007, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 311 Arsenal St. Watertown, MA 02471.
