Carmen L. Rodriguez

FARMINGVILLE, NY – Carmen L. Rodriguez, 87, most recently of Uxbridge and Oxford, died Friday, April 21, 2023, peacefully in her home surrounded by family after a short battle with cancer.  She was predeceased by her husband, Victor Rodriguez and daughter Miriam Piretti. She is survived by two daughters, Naida LePore of Whitinsville, MA (formerly of Oxford, MA), and Carmen Long and her husband David of Mohrsville, PA; a brother, Orlando Velazquez of Nevada; three sisters, Sylvia Cano of Cypress, TX, and Doria and Isabella, both of New York City; her son-in-law, Peter Piretti of Patchogue, NY; her cousin, Aida Guzman, with whom she lived for many years; her grandchildren, Kristen, Mark, Meredith, Noelle, Jennifer, Ralph, Christine, Peter, Victoria, Marisol, Patricia, and their families; many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, daughter of the Daniel Lopez and Eugenia (Santiago) Velazquez. Her father Daniel died when Carmen was young, and she was raised by her mother Eugenia and step-father Ramon Velazquez. She lived most of her life in Farmingville, NY. She previously lived in Puerto Rico and NYC and later moved to Oxford, Webster, and Uxbridge.

Mrs. Rodriguez was the supervisor of the public window at the Federal Reserve Bank in New York City, where she proudly worked for 26 years. Family and church were her passions, and she was active in the church throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by many friends and family members who loved her.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at PineLawn Memorial Park, 2030 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St., Suite 250, Framingham, MA 01701, or to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452, or to the VNA Care Hospice, or the VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608.
