OXFORD – Carolyn M. (Degon) Auger, 84, died Friday, July 14, 2023, at Brookdale Eddy Pond in Auburn.  She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, John G. Auger Jr. of Oxford who died in 2003.  She is survived by two daughters, Ann Marie Olsen and her husband David of St. George, ME, and Linda M. Bjork of Oxford; three grandchildren, Jenae Bjork of Oxford, Corey Bjork and his wife Laura of Auburn, and Hillarie McClure and her husband Ryan of Amherst, NH; four great-grandchildren, Sylis Roy of Oxford, and Emmeline Bjork and Adalyn Bjork, both of Auburn, and James McClure of Amherst NH; and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a brother, Arthur C. Degon Jr.; a sister, Rosemary Flagg and her husband Timothy Flagg; and a son-in-law, Robert Bjork.  She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Arthur C. and Carrie M. (Brown) Degon, and lived most of her life in Oxford before moving to Brookdale Eddy Pond in 2021.

Mrs. Auger worked at Park and Shop for many years, retiring in 2004.  She considered New Hampshire her second home and spent many summers camping and visiting family there.  She was a Girl Scout leader when her daughters were young.  Mrs. Auger loved a day of shopping, gardening, crafts, crocheting, and spending holidays with her family, especially her favorite – Christmas.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford.  Those attending are respectfully requested to meet directly at the church.  Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester.  There are no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Care Hospice, 67 Millbrook St., 500 North, Worcester, MA 01606.
