OXFORD/ROYAL PALM BEACH, FL – Catherine T. Gilchrist, 66, of Royal Palm Beach, FL, formerly of Oxford, died peacefully on January 30, 2023, at Trustbridge Hospice in Florida with family members in attendance.

She is survived by three siblings; Marie Brenneman of Oxford, Christine & her husband Marc Dauphinais of Millbury, and Jean Collins of Auburn.

She was predeceased by her parents, Irene & George Morin; two brothers, William & John Morin; and the love of her life, Grant Gilchrist, after two brief years of a wonderful marriage.

She maintained a close lifelong relationship with the Gilchrist family. She leaves behind two sisters-in-law, Christina St Martin of Oxford, and Marilyn Levine of Plymouth, along with a step-daughter, Jessica Gilchrist & her daughter Sophie of Watertown.

She leaves many cousins, nieces & nephews in addition to a large assortment of friends both in Massachusetts and Florida. Her family is forever grateful to her friends in Florida who became her second family, bringing joy & light to her life, providing love & encouragement during her numerous health challenges.

Although she had family in Massachusetts, she chose to live her best life in the warmth and sunshine of Florida. Some of her best days were spent riding with friends in her convertible, top down & hair blowing. She loved going to the beach and despite her visual limitations, was able to pursue reading with the aid of assistive devices. Cathy maintained a sense of humor and positive outlook in the face of many challenges. She struggled to stay connected to her family in Massachusetts, flying back & forth for events whenever possible.

Per her request, a funeral service will be held at the Oxford United Methodist Church, 465 Main St., Oxford, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. Internment of her cremains alongside her great love, Grant Gilchrist, will follow immediately at North Cemetery in Oxford.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to either the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St., Suite 250, Framingham, MA 01701 or the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.  To share a memory or offer condolence, please visit paradisfuneralhome.com
