CHARLTON – Curt A. Durling, 61, of King Road, passed away peacefully in his home with his loving wife and friends by his side, after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Dawn P. Durling of Charlton; his grandson, Lucas Durling of Taipei, Taiwan; his mother, Margaret (Courcelle) Durling of Charlton; two brothers, Michael Durling of Portland, ME, and Kevin Durling of Denver, CO; two sisters, Cindy Landry of Charlton, and Patty Pollett of Dudley; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his son, Peter A. Durling who died in 2013; and his sister, Marilyn Hulbert who died in 2001. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Roderick Durling, and lived in Auburn before moving to Charlton 16 years ago. He graduated from Auburn High School and the Salter School.
Mr. Durling worked for Federal Express for 14 years. Previously, he worked for Peterson Oil and Wright Wire as a member of the Steelworker’s Union. He was a member of A.S.P.C.A. He enjoyed boating, horses, animals, raising chickens, football, fishing, and camping. He was a Gentleman’s Farmer and enjoyed working on the land.
Calling hours are Friday, February 10, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday at the conclusion of the calling hours. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Auburn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the M.S.P.C.A., 350 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130.
