OXFORD – Daniel G. O’Halloran, 72, of Plantation Road, died Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence in Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Donna M. (Phillipo) O’Halloran of Oxford; two sons, Jason D. O’Halloran and his wife Hayleigh of Oxford, and Justin D. O’Halloran of Oxford; his brother, Michael O’Halloran and his wife Paula of Arizona; his sister, June King and her husband Wayne of Millbury; two grandchildren, Teagan P. O’Halloran and Ryan J. O’Halloran, both of Oxford; two uncles, Earl Skeean and Denis Skeean, both of Oxford; and many nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of the late George F. and B. June (Dupont) O’Halloran, and lived most of his life in Oxford. He was predeceased by his brother Mark O’Halloran. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1966 and attended Worcester Vocational Technical School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. O’Halloran was a licensed Optician throughout his life. He began his career at American Optical in Southbridge and later owned Southbridge Opticians also in Southbridge. He was the Veteran’s Agent for the town of Oxford for 19 years, retiring in 2019. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 5663 in Oxford. Mr. O’Halloran’s passions included cars and motorcycles. He always loved riding his Harley. He also enjoyed building model cars and reading. He was very proud of his work with the Veterans in Oxford with whom he worked with for nearly two decades.
Calling hours are Monday, September 20, 2021, from 5-8 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A service will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Roch’s Cemetery in Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Veteran’s Inc., 69 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605.
