OXFORD - David “Dennis” Bigwood, formerly of Oxford, MA, passed away July 17th in Hartford, CT, after a period of declining health.

Dennis leaves behind his domestic partner, Connie Briand.   The family is extremely grateful to her for the wonderful care she provided to him throughout the years.  They lived together, along with her son, Dustin, in Dayville CT.

He also leaves behind his three sons:  Dennis Salliby and his wife Amelia, and Andrew and Scott Bigwood.  Dennis also leaves his mother Marie Bigwood and his siblings and their spouses:  Lynn and Steve Walker, and Michael and Christine Bigwood.  He left behind many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins and many lifelong friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, David A Bigwood Jr, and his infant son, David Bigwood.  Buddy, his bird and faithful companion, is already missing him.

Dennis graduated Oxford High School in 1972 and lived throughout his life mainly in Central Massachusetts.

Prior to his illness, he worked many years at the TJ Maxx Distribution Plant and The Fair both in Worcester.

He loved baseball, basketball, bowling and fishing.  He excelled in sports in High School.  An avid reader, he devoured Sci-Fi books.

His big love was playing guitar and was self-taught.   When he was younger he played in a local band.  There was nothing he enjoyed more than hanging out with friends and playing guitar. He had a zest for life and enjoyed living it to its fullest.

His ashes will be interred with his father at a later date at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.  At the current time there are no services planned, according to his wishes.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oxford Dog Park with checks payable to the Town of Oxford, 325 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540.  Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
