AUBURN – David C. Richards, 77, of Pakachoag Village, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, in his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Gail M. (Nobert) Longueil of Auburn; three sisters, Jean Picard and her husband Steven of North Brookfield, Jodi Arsenault of Millbury, and Judy Grady and her husband Bob of Webster; five children, Michelle Hall of Auburn, Melanie Porcher and her husband Elumah Kemokai-Porcher of Auburn, Jennifer Moquet of Milan, NY, April Montigny and her husband Calvin of Sturbridge, and Harold Moquet of Charlton; five grandchildren, Samantha, Jonas, Julia, Bret, and Jaylen; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Neal Richards.
He was born in Worcester, son of the late Basil C. and Grace M. (Carruthers) Richards Jr., and lived in Southbridge before moving to Auburn 35 years ago. He graduated from Burncoat High School in Worcester. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Richards was a construction worker throughout his life. He enjoyed playing pitch, building furniture, fishing, and hunting. He had so many talents and was so handy. There was nothing he couldn’t build or fix. He was always there to help while also taking the time to teach. He was so proud to be a grandfather. Most of all, he loved his life with his wife Gail.
Memorial calling hours are Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 12 noon – 2:00 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the conclusion of calling hours.
