OXFORD – Donald E. Bertrand, Jr., 59, of Sunset Avenue, died Friday, October 12, 2007, in his home. He is survived by a daughter, Skye Robert of Worcester; three sisters, Donna Blaum of West Boylston, Darlene Blanchard of Thompson, CT, and Denise Yacino of Douglas; three grandchildren, Alyssa Robert, Anthony Robert, and Noah Robert, all of Worcester; two nieces, three nephews, and his cat Thunder. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Donald E. and Theresa I. (Belanger) Bertrand, Sr., and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1965 and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Bertrand was a self-employed contractor for 40 years. He was a member of H.O.G. (Harley Owner's Group) and enjoyed riding his Softail Deuce. He also enjoyed showing his trophy-winning El Camino. Memorial calling hours are Thursday, October 18, 2007, from 5-8 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A funeral service and burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Liver Foundation, New England Chapter, 88 Winchester St., Newton, MA 02161.
