OXFORD – Donald F. Boyd, 90, of Locust Street, died Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Katharine C. (Lieblang) Boyd of Oxford, who died on October 15, 2007. He is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. LaFontaine of Oxford and her husband Richard, and Kathleen L. Boyd of Oxford; four grandchildren, Lynn Delaney and her husband Robert of Charlton, Karen Norgren of New York, Michelle Boucher of Oxford, and James Boyd and his girlfriend Heather Mendella of Oxford; four great grandchildren, Stephanie and Michael Jones of Oxford, and Dylan and Matthew Delaney of Charlton; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara J. Boucher of Oxford, who died in 1982; two brothers, Gerald Boyd and Glenn Boyd; and a sister, Rene Mahoney. He was born in Leominster, the son of the late George and Eva (Turo) Boyd, and lived most of his life in Oxford. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II. Mr. Boyd was a printer at Worcester Envelope Company in Auburn for 6 years, retiring in 1980. Previously, he worked for U.S. Envelope in Worcester for 30 years. He was a member and senior vice commander of the American Legion Post 58 in Oxford. He was an avid Red Sox fan – when they won. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years, and especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Donald will be remembered in a private family service. Burial will be private at North Cemetery in Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Friends of the Oxford Public Library, 339 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is in care of the arrangements.
