OXFORD – Donald R. Germain, 72, of Main Street, died peacefully on Thursday, November 25, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester surrounded by his children. He was predeceased by his wife of 2 years, Wendie A. (Walker) Germain who died in 2017. He is survived by four sons, Robert D. Germain of Chicopee, Mark A. Germain and his partner Jacklyn of Chicopee, Gary Germain of Agawam, and Brian A. Germain and his wife Jessica of Ludlow; two stepsons, Mark D. Darby and his wife Jamie of Omaha, NE, and Joel D. Darby of Sutton; many grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. He was born in Fort Aberdeen, MD, son of the late Albert D. and Barbara Ann (Paul) Germain, and lived in Oxford since 2013. He graduated from Buena High School in Sierra Vista, AZ, in 1968. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and he later served in the Army National Guard.
Mr. Germain worked for CSX Railroad for over 30 years prior to retirement. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. He enjoyed traveling, electronics, Ford vehicles, and loved his dog, Snuggles.
A funeral will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch’s Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Friday, December 3, 2021, from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
