BROOKLYN, CT – Donald C. Letson, Sr., of Brooklyn, Connecticut, formerly of Medford and Milton, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025.

In 1955, Don met the love of his life, Lil, at a dance. Just one week later, he was deployed to Germany with the U.S. Army. Their long-distance romance flourished through letters for two and a half years. Upon Don’s return, they resumed their stateside courtship and were married in 1960, sharing 60 years of marriage until Lil’s passing in 2020.

He was the devoted father of Donald, Jr. and his wife, Cheryl, of Auburn, MA; Mark and his wife, Monique, of Hampton, CT; Maureen Feuerman and her husband, Joshua of Greenwich, CT; and Timothy and his wife, Ayumi, of Byfield, MA. He was also the cherished grandfather to Erica, Tom, Kelsey, Justin, Charlie, Taylor, Kevin, Bryan, Owen, Patrick, Dylan, Katherine, and Naya, and great grandfather to Havi, Ryley, Úna, and Adrian.

Don was born in Medford, MA, and predeceased by his parents Howard and Nellie Letson; and his siblings, Richard Letson and Meredith (Letson) Fiore. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

He attended Medford High School. He is a Korean War Veteran and a member of the Braintree Disabled American Veterans Post and the John P. Mckeon AmVets Post. Over the course of his career, he was employed by the Watertown Arsenal, Boston Navy Shipyard and he retired from the MBTA.

Don was deeply involved in his community, serving on the Town of Milton Warrant Committee and as a Town Meeting Member. In his younger years, he coached baseball and served as a Cub Scout den leader. Family was always Don’s top priority, and he found his greatest joy in cheering on his children and grandchildren and gathering the entire family together.

An avid traveler, Don cherished time spent in North Conway. After retirement, he and Lil embraced life on the open road in their RV, visiting all 50 states, 49 of them by RV. Their travels also took them to Japan and Ireland. He especially enjoyed more than 20 years in Key Colony, Florida, as well as his casino trips.
