Donna G. Reidy

DUDLEY – Donna Gladys (Durkee) Reidy of Dudley MA.  February 6, 1961 - November 3, 2023.

Donna passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Dudley to Mary Priscilla (Ryder) Durkee and Roger Durkee Sr., both preceded her in death.

Donna will be lovingly missed by her husband of 35 years; Joseph Reidy, daughter Ashley and her fiancé Ralph Duplin Jr, her son Travis, and her adoring grandsons, Luke Goyette & Tate Reidy. Donna leaves her sister Robin and husband Steve Michael of Indiana, Pamela Denardis and partner Dennis of Woodstock, CT, Deborah Carlson and partner Gene Chauvin of Groton, NH, and her brother Roger Durkee Jr of Woodstock, CT.  She also leaves several nieces, nephews and many friends.  Donna was especially grateful to her sister-in-law Pamela Reidy for her love and support throughout her cancer journey.

Donna was employed as a quality inspector at Gentex Optics in Dudley for 35 years. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant until December 2021, working at Brookside Rehabilitation and Southbridge Rehab & Nursing Center.  She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandsons.  She was an accomplished quilter, enjoying sewing with her sisters.

Donna and her family gratefully acknowledge the wonderful care she received at UMass Memorial Oncology - Dr Hughes and Care Central VNA & Hospice, especially her nurse Tara.

Please join her family as they honor her, Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oxford.  Visitation with her family will be from 2-4 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Service at the funeral home at 4:00 p.m.  Please consider wearing blue, Donna’s favorite color.

In honor of Donna’s courageous fight with ovarian cancer, and the gratitude she had for her participation in a clinical trial at Dana Farber, please omit flowers and consider a donation to Gyn-Oncology research to benefit the work of Dr. Carolyn Krasner, MD and her staff.  Mailing envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
