Doris Gilman

OXFORD – Doris M. (Zinkowsky) Gilman, 88, of Crescent Street, died Wednesday, October 25, 2017, as UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Francis J. Gilman Sr. who died in 2009. She is survived by three children, Carol A. Pielocik and her husband William of Lakeland, FL, Francis J. Gilman Jr. and his wife Carol of Sturbridge, and Sandra J. Daniel and her husband Mark of Southbridge; three grandchildren, Tanya Gilman of Webster, Christine Carofaniello and her husband Anthony of Spencer, and Charles Gilman and his wife Lauren of Franklin; five great grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a sister, Diana Dawson of Charlton who died in 2011. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Joseph B. and Viola (Naruszkiewicz) Zinkowsky, and lived in Worcester, Charlton, and Spencer, before moving to Oxford in 1958.

Mrs. Gilman enjoyed crocheting, collecting, and being around people. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

A funeral service and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
