OXFORD – Dorothy J. “Dot” (Stevens) Faulkner, 73, of Richardson Corner Road, died Sunday, August 27, 2023, in her home, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Daniel W. Faulkner of Charlton; her son, Nicholas E. Faulkner of Charlton; her sister, Carol Plourde and her husband Roland of Poland, ME; and a group of cousins who she was raised with and remained close to throughout her life. She was born in Lewiston, ME, daughter of the late Eugene and Theresa (Bernier) Stevens, and lived in Gray, ME, before moving to Charlton in 1993. She received her bachelor’s degree from Ricker College in Houlton, ME, and later earned a second bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Dorothy worked as a teacher and bookkeeper until her retirement in 2015. She was a true Parrot Head and enjoyed Jimmy Buffet music throughout her life. She had many close friends from her years in the Weight Watchers group, which she considered a social friend group. She loved trips to the beach and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Memorial calling hours are Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 2-4 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home at the conclusion of calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Healthcare Hospice, 646 Salisbury St., Worcester, MA 01609.
