Dorothy J. Lavallee

OXFORD – Dorothy J. (Huff) Lavallee, 85, of West Court, died Sunday, January 4, 2026, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence in Worcester.

She is survived by two daughters, Robin M. Degnan of Charlton, and Lori A. Steczko and her husband Adam of Oak Point, TX; three grandchildren, Heather Steczko, Kayla Degnan, and Tyler Degnan; two great-grandchildren, Lucas Degnan and Vanessa Degnan; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant son who died in 1966; three brothers, Willam Huff, Carroll Huff, and John Huff; and a sister, Joann Carter.

She was born in Jackson, TN, daughter of the late Ruby A. and Ruby M. (Sampley) Huff, and lived in Forrest City, AR, before moving to Oxford in 1961. She graduated from Forrest City High School in Forrest City, AR, in 1958.

Ms. Lavallee worked in the commercial loan departments for WCIS and Flagship Bank for many years, prior to retiring from Flagship in 2007.

A private graveside service will be held at St. Roch’s Cemetery in Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
