CHARLTON - Dorothy M. (Miller) Lestha, 88, died on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester. She is survived by three daughters, Christine Abbott and her husband Merle of Charlton, Dee Brewer of Charlton, and Mary Padeni and her husband Jeffrey of Dudley; six grandchildren, Christopher Brewer and his wife Raylene, Dylan Abbott and his wife Christina, Nicholas Brewer and his fiancée Cassidy Derkosrofian, Harrison Brewer and his partner Natalie Kelchner, Jennifer Brewer, and David Abbott; four great granddaughters, Hannah Brewer, Allison Brewer, Willa June Abbott, Ainsley Faye Abbott; a great-grandson, Isaiah Dylan Abbott; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Donald W. Lestha; and her parents, Sophie (Chaousis) Berry and Felix Miller.
Dorothy was born and raised in Worcester and as a child enjoyed camping on Cape Cod and spending summers with her family in Marlboro. She and her husband moved to Charlton in 1986.
While she held many jobs, from working in the office of a beverage distributor to helping in the Worcester Public Schools cafeterias, she was most proud to be at home caring for her family. She was active in the community and spent many years as a group leader for Camp Fire Girls. She was happiest yard-sailing with her husband and later adding thrifting to her weekends with her daughter, Mary. She loved meeting new people and exploring new places, whether on a cruise ship or a train to Alaska. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, watching old television shows, and playing games on her computer. She loved life and always had a sparkle in her eyes and a smile on her face. The family appreciates all of the help and support from hospital staff at UMass, especially Katie and Becky in the CICU.
A private service will be later this month. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
