Webster

WEBSTER – Dorothy “Dottie” (Patrowicz) Placzek, 102, died peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles “Kay” S. Placzek of Webster. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Elaine P. Kompel and her husband John of Webster; and two grandsons, John F. Kompel II of Providence, RI, and Andrew James Kompel of Boston. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence Patrowicz and Frances Kaczynski, who emigrated from Europe to the United States.

Life for “Babcia” was family, grandsons and faith. She lovingly cared for her parents and siblings – she was the family caretaker. Dottie would often be seen at soccer and baseball games cheering on her grandsons.

One of her most treasured possessions was her rosary beads. Neither snowstorms nor heat waves would keep Babcia from walking to Mass at St. Joseph Basilica in Webster.

A private funeral Mass was held at St. Joseph Basilica in Webster. Burial was held at St. Joseph’s Garden of Peace in Webster.

Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford directed the arrangements.
