OXFORD – Dorothy “Dotti” E. (Barilone) Murphy, 75, of Homestead Avenue, died peacefully on Friday, September 24, 2021, in her home surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Dennis W. Murphy of Oxford; two children, Mandi Melanson and her fiancé David Casey of Oxford, and Cully Murphy and his wife Lisa of Grafton; her sister, Laurel Barrett of Sterling; five grandchildren, Timothy, Amber, and Jayme Melanson, Justina and Brendan Murphy; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by three brothers, Nicholas Barilone Jr., John Barilone, and Russell Barilone. She was born in Concord, daughter of the late Nicholas E. and Shirley A. (Garlick) Barilone, and lived in Maynard before moving to Oxford 11 years ago. She graduated from Maynard High School in 1964.
Mrs. Murphy worked as a secretary throughout her life. She volunteered extensively for many organizations and served on various town committees in Maynard. She enjoyed crafts, Bingo, and loved her cats.
A private graveside service will be held at Glenwood Cemetery in Maynard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice and Palliative Care, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
