DUDLEY – Douglas W. Zeigler, 64, died peacefully on Monday, March 9, 2026, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Dale M. (Plante) Zeigler; four children, Robert Piltzecker of Dudley, Sean Piltzecker and his wife Colleen of Washington, Nicole Coiteux and her husband David of Charlton, and Andrea Zeigler of Worcester; two brothers, Scott Zeigler of Maine, and Lance Zeiger and his wife Janelle of Maine; a sister, Debra Zeigler-Walsh and her husband John Walsh of Florida; five grandchildren, Julia, Alexia, Emma, Connor, and Wyatt; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his Maine family, he is survived by numerous relatives in Nebraska.
He was born in Caribou, ME, son of the late Melvin and Carolyn (Quist) Zeigler, and was raised in Stockholm, ME, before moving to Thompson, CT, and Dudley. Doug attended Stockholm Elementary School and Caribou High School, from where he graduated in 1979. He attended the First Baptist Church in Stockholm and was a member of the church's Boys' Brigade. Also he worked in the stockroom at the very popular J C Penney store in Caribou before moving to Massachusetts.
Mr. Zeigler was the service manager at Place Motors in Webster for several years. Previously he worked at Webster-Dudley Lincoln Mercurcy for over 20 years. He loved fishing and fished in many tournaments throughout his life. His favorite sport was football.
Calling hours are Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home 357 Main Street, Oxford. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the conclusion of calling hours. Burial will be private at a later date.
