FORT MYERS, FL – Earl F. Faneuf, Jr. was born in Worcester, MA to the late Earl F. and Mary C. (Walsh) Faneuf.  Earl Jr. died suddenly on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, FL, from complications of pneumonia.  Raised in Oxford, MA, he attended and graduated from Oxford High School in 1973 and received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology from NorthEastern University on June 17th, 1984.

After graduating from NorthEastern University, he secured a job that moved him to California.  He lived in Marin County, San Francisco, San Jose, and Las Vegas, NV, before moving to Fort Myers, FL in 2015.

Prior to retirement,  Earl was a Software Engineer and Programmer throughout his life.  He had a passion for photography, owned and operated Photos by Earl and S.J.C.  He loved music and enjoyed playing the piano and organ.  He had an immense collection of movies and enjoyed film and TV.  Earl loved talking to people and could touch on practically any subject matter, because he constantly read the news to stay current, and was never one to shy away from a good discussion.

Earl is survived by his loving husband of 8 years, and together 34 years, Manuel Martinez, whom he met in January of 1989. He also leaves behind a sister,  Debra A. Monahan of Oxford; nieces and nephews, Jesslyn Flynn, Michelle Schneider, John Monahan IV, and their families; 1 brother-in-law, Eduardo Martinez, 4 sisters-in-law, Margarita Barroso, Lilia Vega, Carmen Rodriguez, and Gabriela Turcios, 19 other nieces and nephews, 29 grand nieces and nephews, 1 great grand nephew, and 3 fur babies. He was predeceased by a sister, Susan M. Faneuf, who died in 2014.  Earl touched many people’s hearts with his genuinely loving personality and always had a smile to share with others.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorial calling hours are Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 2-5 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford.  A memorial Mass in his name will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 270 Main St., Oxford.  Burial will be held privately.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, P.O. Box 756, Osceola, WI  54020-756, or American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St., Suite 250, Framingham, MA 01701, or the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116, or Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
