Earl Faneuf, Sr.

OXFORD -- Earl F. Faneuf Sr., passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on November 17, 2013, at the age of 83. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary C. (Walsh) Faneuf of Oxford, who died in 2005; and his second wife, Betty (Sadlon) Faneuf after a brief union. He was also predeceased by his parents Edward and Nelly (Farnum) Faneuf; brothers, Howard Faneuf, Richard Faneuf, and Arthur Giroux; and his sister, Ethel (Faneuf) Caissie and husband John Caissie. He was a dear father to Earl Faneuf Jr. and his partner Manuel Martinez, Debra Monahan, Susan Faneuf. He was a cherished grandfather to Jesslyn (Monahan) Flynn and her husband Andrew, Michelle Monahan and her fiancé Andrew Schneider of Delafield, WI, Amy (Monahan) Wells and her husband Randy of Amelia Ohio, and John Monahan. He was an adored great-grandfather to Emily Flynn, Alicia and Jordyn Wells. Earl proudly served in the US Army, serving in the Honor Guard protecting President Truman during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from New England School of Accounting. While working at MetLife, he and his wife Mary started the Oxford, Putnam and Willimantic Credit Bureaus. He also started, owned and operated the Instant Print Center in Oxford Center. Earl was very active in town politics and served as Chairman on the Oxford Housing Committee. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener and animal lover. Calling hours are Saturday, November 23, 2013, from 1-4 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the conclusion of the calling hours. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472, or to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
