Edith Saad

WORCESTER – Edith I. (Miethke) Saad, 75, formerly of Webster, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Radius Healthcare Center, Worcester after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin Saad and his wife, Cheryl of Austin, TX, David Saad and his wife, Elise of Shrewsbury; four grandchildren, Tara Saad of Austin, TX, Kiera (Saad) Guerrero-Perez of Costa Rica, Amy Saad and Marc Saad of Shrewsbury; and her former husband, George Saad, Jr. of Oxford. Edith was born in Berlin, Germany, daughter of the late Wilhelm Hermann and Minna Auguste (Zier) Miethke. She immigrated to the United States in 1953, became a US citizen in 1962 and resided in Webster until 1981. Before returning to Worcester County in 2003, she resided in Colorado Springs, CO, and Austin, Texas, both for several years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother whose greatest joy in life was her family. Calling hours will be Friday, March 14, 2008, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A funeral service will immediately follow the calling hours at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. At a later date, inurnment will be private at St. Joseph's Garden of Peace Columbarium in Webster. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Edith's memory to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org), Massachusetts Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
