WEBSTER – Edward “Eddie” Deane, 85, died Saturday, November 2, 2024, in his home. He was born in Boston, raised in North Quincy, and resided in Braintree and Webster throughout his life. He graduated from North Quincy High School and received a degree from Newbury College. He served honorably in the US Army.

Eddie leaves behind the love of his life, Barbara (Murphy) Deane. The two were childhood sweethearts, married in 1960 and lived a true love story. He also leaves behind his daughter, Pam Rawdon and her husband Michael of Webster; his son, Edward Deane and his wife Rhonda of Topsfield; and his daughter, Leslie Quinn and her husband John of Redondo Beach, CA; his grandchildren, Jessica, Michael James, Eric, Lyndsey, Ryan, Sydney and Alex. So much joy in recent years has come from his 5 great-grandchildren, Grace, Caleb, James, Hank and Iris. Additionally, Ed leaves behind sisters, Marilyn Sullivan, Dorothy Belcher and Mary Ellen Rose; his brother-in-law, Tim Murphy; his sister-in-law, Peachie Demakes; many nieces and nephews, and so many adoring friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas J. and Mary (Lyons) Deane; two brothers, Thomas Deane and Paul Deane; as well as four sisters: Priscilla Jarvis, Carol Seltzer, Barbara McGovern and Virginia Keane.

Eddie worked tirelessly his whole life to provide happiness to his family. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. Family, love and laughter were the foundations he held dear. There was rarely an encounter with Eddie where he wasn’t trying to make someone laugh. His quick wit and his love for his Barbie and his family are what people will always remember him for. He will forever be in the hearts of the people he touched. The family will remember him privately and celebrate his life together.

Donations in Eddie’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.

Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
