WORCESTER – Edward C. Kusy, 88, of Santoro Road, died Thursday, October 19, 2023, at St. Mary’s Health Center in Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joan C. (Lehtola) Kusy of Worcester; two children, Robert E. Kusy and his wife Rosemary, and Kristin L. Dadah and her husband Paul, all of West Boylston; and three grandchildren, Michael R. Kusy of West Boylston, Stephen J. Kusy of Worcester, and Melissa V. Kusy of Nashville, TN. He was predeceased by a brother, Walter D. Kusy. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Edward W. and Mildred L. (Norgren) Kusy, and lived in Millbury before moving to Worcester in 1959. He graduated from Millbury High School, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Kusy worked as a groundskeeper at Assumption College in Worcester for 4 years, retiring in 1990. He enjoyed playing softball in his younger years, and more recently enjoyed golf. He trained harness horses in Foxboro and Pennsylvania. He liked listening to Country and Western Music and enjoyed spending time at home with his family.
Memorial calling hours are Wednesday, November 1, 2023, from 3-6 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Military funeral honors will be rendered on Wednesday at 5:45 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
