Edward Pizzetti

Oxford – Edward “Pro” J. Pizzetti, 94, of Oxford, died peacefully in his home on Sunday, July 15, 2018, with his family by his side.

Mr. Pizzetti was married for 65 years to the late, Dorothy M. “Dolly” (Caplette) Pizzetti, who died in 2013. He is survived by his son, Stephen E. Pizzetti and his wife, Stephanie of Oxford, with whom he lived. Pro is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He was born in Webster, son of the late August and Louise (Gini) Pizzetti and is also predeceased by all 7 of his brothers and sisters. Mr. Pizzetti graduated from the former St. Louis High School in Webster and attended Nichols College. Pro was an exceptional athlete and at the age of 17, he was scouted by and was extended an offer to play professional baseball for the Minnesota Twins. Mr. Pizzetti instead chose to enlist in the United States Army and serve his country during World War II in the Battle of the Bulge and other significant battles. He was very highly decorated and recently received the prestigious Legion of Honour medal from the people of France.

Pro worked for over 40 years as a color specialist at Cranston Print Works in Webster and after his retirement went to work for KMart in Webster.

He was a man of style, a great dancer, and played several instruments.

The world is a sadder place without his humor, his energy, his helping hand, and his large heart.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in memory of Pro may be made to Veterans Inc. 69 Grove Street Worcester, MA 01605. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St. Oxford is assisting the family with arrangements
