OXFORD – Edward N. "Nick" Roos III, 56, of Webster and formerly of Henry Marsh Road, died Sunday, May 20, 2007, in his home. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Alice J. (Selmier) Roos of Webster; two daughters, Alicen N. Roos of Webster and Janice E. Roos and her fiancé Justin Myers of Norwich, CT; a brother, Lawrence Roos of Rhode Island; three sisters, Ann Carpenter of Rhode Island, twin sister Eleanor Booth of Oxford, and Judy Beaulieu of Rhode Island; two grandchildren, Austin Roos and Abigail Myers; his Uncle Clyde and Aunt Jeanne Willey of Oxford; his grand dog Trot; many nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family in Florida, and many friends at Hidden Acres Campground in Preston City, CT. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Edward N. and Janice (Willey) Roos II, and was raised in Oxford, lived in Tampa, Florida, for 17 years and Oxford for 19 years, before moving to Webster in 2005. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1969, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. Nick worked for the Department of Public Works in Oxford for 21 years, most recently as the Cemetery/Recreation Superintendent. He was a member of the American Legion Post 58 in Oxford. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2007, at the Oxford United Methodist Church, 465 Main St., Oxford. Military burial will follow at North Cemetery, Main St., Oxford, with the Oxford Memorial Honor Guard participating. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is directing the arrangements.
