OXFORD – Elizabeth A. (Christian) Daigneault, 100, of Rawson Avenue, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, in her home. She was predeceased by her husband, John E. Daigneault who died in 1975. She is survived by five children, Suzanne Daigneault of Oxford, Leonard Diagneault of Quincy, Eva Fraher and her husband Tom of Winthrop, Ruth Hoffman and her husband Jeff of Webster, and Marie Lewis and her husband Michael of Leominster; her Goddaughter, Kathleen Hallene of North Carolina; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Thomas Daigneault. She was born in Oxford, daughter of the late David and Mary (Welch) Christian, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford.
Mrs. Daigneault was a homemaker throughout her life who lovingly cared for her home and family. In her youth, she worked for Saad’s Woolen Mill in North Oxford for several years. She was a longtime member of St. Roch’s Church in Oxford. Mrs. Daigneault was a member of the Oxford Senior Center, the Golden Age Club, and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting and made beautiful wedding gowns and blankets. She also enjoyed cake-making, crafts, and ceramics. She had a lifelong love of animals and will be greatly missed by her beloved dog, Curley.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch’s Cemetery in Oxford. A calling hour will be held on Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Animal Shelter, 325 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540.
