OXFORD – Eric “Beef” S. Kampe, 57, currently of Glens Falls, NY, and formerly of Oxford, died Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Slate Valley Center in Granville, NY, after a short illness.
He is survived by his sister, Nancy L. Bouchard and her husband Joseph of Oxford; his brother, Thomas H. Kampe and his wife Melissa of Dudley; two nephews, Stephen T. Bouchard and Tyler A. Bouchard, both of Oxford; and a niece, Kennedy L. Kampe of Dudley; and his longtime friend, Deanna Phillips.
He was born in Worcester, son of the late Kenneth A. and Linda L. (Kennedy) Kampe, and lived most of his life in Massachusetts before moving to Glens Falls, NY, several years ago. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1986.
Mr. Kampe was the deli manager at Hannaford Supermarket in Queensbury, NY, for several years. Previously he worked at Days End Tavern in Oxford. He was a fan of the New England sports teams, especially the Patriots and Red Sox. He will be remembered as an old soul, who could often be found with his flip phone and reading the daily newspaper.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at North Cemetery in Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Ecumenical Food Shelf, 4 Maple Rd., Oxford, MA 01540.
Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
