OXFORD – Eugene “Red” A. Langlois, 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 2, 2023, at Tatnuck Park in Worcester after a long illness. He was predeceased by his wife, Noreen (Sullivan) Langlois who died in 1999 and his longtime partner, Marilyn “Lynne” Bonneau who died in 2018. He is survived by six children, Francis X. Langlois and his wife Amy of Issaquah, WA, Christine M. Langlois and her husband Doug Herrick of Newton, John E. Langlois and his wife Tricia of Quinebaug, CT, Michael J. Langlois and his wife Charlene of Worcester, Michelle A. Langlois of Warren, VT, and Nicole M. Langlois of Maynard; a brother, Leo R. Langlois of Kansas; three sisters, Simone C. Langlois of Gardner, Leonne J. Perreault of Gardner, and Paulette T. Bergeron of Kennebunk, ME; six grandchildren, Nathalie, Marc, Emily, Sarah, Daniel, and Camile; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters, Ernest J. Langlois Jr., Estelle P. Griffin, Constance L. Hamel, Roland D. Langlois, James L. Langlois, Joan M. Hamel, Jacqueline A. Langlois, and George Langlois. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Ernest J. and Olivine J. (Beaudet) Langlois, and lived in Oxford for over 40 years.
Mr. Langlois enjoyed his role as grandfather and was a lifelong outdoorsman. He appreciated natural beauty in many forms and loved music. He spent time gardening, watching hockey, and playing golf.
Mr. Langlois was briefly part of the U.S. Navy, and later, a salesman for Rand-Whitney Container in Worcester for over 40 years. He was also the groundskeeper and a longtime member of the 200 Sportsman Club in Webster.
The family would like to thank the professionals at Tatnuck Park at Worcester and Brookhaven Hospice for their exceptional and compassionate care.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Those attending are respectfully requested to meet directly at the church. Burial will be private at St. Roch’s Cemetery in Oxford. Memorial calling hours are Wednesday, November 15, 2023, from 4-6 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford.
