WEST BROOKFIELD – Frances B. (McCarthy) Normandin, 80, of Old West Brookfield Road, died Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Care One in Millbury, surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Roland E. Normandin of West Brookfield; five children, Wendy Swallow and her husband Roger of West Brookfield, Tina Gremo and her husband Ralph of Charlton, Ronald Normandin and his wife Tammy of Oxford, Robin Bumpus and her husband Andrew of Oxford, and Randy Normandin and his wife Amanda of Sturbridge; a brother, Albert McCarthy and his wife Lorraine of Cape Coral, FL; three sisters, Claire Ugalde of Worcester, Claudia Seale and her husband Arthur of Oxford, and Gail Sivret of Dudley; ten grandchildren, Kristy Fitzpatrick and her partner Michael Mastrorio of Worcester, Jessica Dolbec and her husband Joshua of Oxford, Matt Fitzpatrick and his wife Abby of Clifton Park, NY, John Sanderski and his wife Emily of Brimfield, Nicole Rawdon and her husband Michael of Worcester, Jake Sanderski and his wife Madeline of Spencer, Brandon Normandin of Worcester, Tyler Normandin and his wife Julie of Sturbridge, Hunter Normandin of Sturbridge, and Jewels Normandin of Sturbridge, eleven great-grandchildren, Lily, Josephine, Charlie, Colden, James, Keegan, Phillip, Hank, Violette, Holden, and Forrest; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by four brothers, Armand McCarhty, Kenneth McCarthy, Roger McCarthy, and Walter McCarthy; and a sister, Janet Williams.

She was born in Oxford, daughter of the late Walter E. and Irene G. (Strack) McCarthy, and lived in Southbridge and North Oxford, before moving to West Brookfield in 2015.

Mrs. Normandin was a CNA for the VNA of Southern Worcester County and Oakwood Nursing Home for 18 years, retiring in 1997. She owned horses throughout her life, and enjoyed raising and riding them. She was a fan of the Boston sports teams, especially the Red Sox and Patriots, and she enjoyed painting, camping, and striped bass fishing.

Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Those attending are respectfully requested to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at St. Roch’s Cemetery in Oxford. There are no calling hours.
