OXFORD / ESTERO, FL – Frederick A. “Allan” Hull, 89, of Paige Lane, died peacefully on Thursday, April 29, 2021, in his home. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Irene T. (Brosnahan) Hull of Oxford; three children, Linda Vigeant of Oxford, Allan Hull and his wife Marilyn of Tennessee, and Laurie Rawson and her husband Jody of Oxford; two sisters, Sandra Chase of Lynchburg, VA, and Brenda Smith of Wilder, VT; nine grandchildren, Joseph Vigeant and his wife Laura, James Vigeant and his wife Joey, Adam Hull and his wife Ashley, Steven Hull and his fiancée Beth, Michael Vigeant and his wife Susan, Joshua Hull, Ethan Rawson and his wife Jennifer, Aidan Rawson, and John Bedard; eight great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Alex, Natalie, Joseph Jr., Danielle, Olivia, Jasper, and Emelia; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two sons, Douglas Hull who died in 2020, and Steven Hull who died in 1980; and three brothers, Gary, Edmund, and John. He was born in Berkshire, VT, son of the late Frederick H. Kelley and Malinda L. Hull, and lived in Oxford since 1964. He was educated in Enosburg, VT, and received an associates degree from Worcester Junior College.
Mr. Hull worked for the Worcester County Sheriff’s Department for over 25 years, retiring as a lieutenant in 1994. Previously he was a manager for Hertz Rental Car at Logan Airport in Boston. He was a life member of Singletary Rod and Gun Club in Oxford and the National Rifle Association. He was a former member of the Oxford Rotary Club. He was a member of the Bay Path School Committee for over 30 years, where he also served as committee chairman.
He enjoyed the great outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved traveling to Prince Edward Island and attending the Fryeburg Fair in Maine. Mr. and Mrs. Hull enjoyed spending the winters in Estero, FL, for over 20 years.
The family would like to thank Frances Bennett for her generous love, care, and support, helping Al to stay home during his final years.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2021, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be private at a later date at North Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Sunday, May 2, 2021, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the V.F.W., 20 Federal Hill Rd., Oxford, MA 01540, or to Boys Town, 14100 Crawford St., Boys Town, NE 68010.
