ROCHDALE – Gail F. (Daigle) Gagliastro, 76, of Virginia Drive, died Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Southbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in Southbridge after a long illness. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Francis A. Gagliastro of Rochdale; her son, Steven F. Gagliastro and his wife Doreen of Webster; two brothers, Norman Daigle of Florida and Ronald Daigle of Oxford; her sister, Patricia Carpenter of Florida; five grandchildren, Jonathan, Brandon, Paige, Cory, and Joel; a great-granddaughter, Ariel; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her daughter Karen Erickson who died in 2017. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Blanche T. (Pietrzak) Daigle, and lived in Oxford before moving to Rochdale seven years ago. She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester in 1963.
Mrs. Gagliastro worked at Sears in Auburn for over 25 years prior to retirement. She was a member of St. Roch’s Church in Oxford. She enjoyed traveling, cruises, and going out dancing on Saturday nights. She loved her grandchildren above all and had a special fondness for babies. She will be remembered as a kind woman who never had a bad word to say about anyone.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2021, at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester. Calling hours are Friday from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St., Suite 250, Framingham, MA 01701.
