George D. Clarke, Jr.

PUTNAM, CT – George D. Clarke, Jr., 79, of Center Street, died Sunday, December 17, 2023, in his home.  He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Vayo and her husband Rodney of Putnam, CT; three sisters, Judith Caissie of Oxford, Barbara Jakubowski of Dudley, and Martha Clarke of Rochdale; his companion, Linda Mason of Oxford; three grandchildren, Jackie, Emily, and Sarah; and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by two sisters, Cheryl Stone who died in 2004, and Nancy Dauksz who died in 2022.  He was born in Oxford, son of the late George D. and Ruth E. (Farrar) Clarke.

Mr. Clark worked for various area construction companies throughout his life.  He enjoyed camping, playing his guitar, singing, and family gatherings.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at North Cemetery, Main Street (Route 12), Oxford.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
