Gilberte Lanoue

OXFORD - Gilberte "Jill" C. (Peloquin) Lanoue, 88, of Carron Lane, died Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at Millbury Healthcare Center. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph E.R. "Lenny" Lanoue of Oxford, who died in 1989. She is survived by three children, Dennis Lanoue and his wife Linda of Ocala, FL, Louise J. Plaud of Oxford, and Jeanne M. Barker and her husband William of Oxford; a brother, Marcel Peloquin of Sturbridge; two sisters, Deliose Baarda of Oxford and Rachel Monopoli of Worcester; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother, Reginald Peloquin; two sisters, Rita Dumas and Simone Peloquin; and a great granddaughter, Brittany Knowlton who died in 2011. She was born in Coaticook, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Florence (Boudreau) Peloquin, and lived in Canada and Maine before moving to Oxford in 1953. She attended the Presentation of Mary Convent in Quebec, Canada. Mrs. Lanoue was a healthcare worker at Sandalwood Nursing Home in Oxford for 20 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford and enjoyed the ladies' "Tuesday Night Card Night" for many years. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are 9:15 - 10:15 a.m. on Saturday at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
